WATER WASHABLE PENETRANT TEST

1. Clean parts by washing, degreasing or etching.  Dry
2. Apply inspection penetrant to the dry surface to be inspected
3. Remove Penetrant with Water
4. Apply developer (dry, water based or solvent based)
5. Inspect (Visible or black light depending upon penetrant type)
6. Final Cleaning

POST EMULSIFICATION PENETRANT TEST

1. Surface preparation, properly clean & dry
2. Apply inspection penetrant
3. Apply emulsifier on top of penetrant
4. Surface penetrant is emulsified
5. Remove emulsified penetrant with water spray
6. Apply developer to draw penetrant out of discontinuity
7. Black light causes indications to fluoresce when viewed in the dark
8. Final cleaning to remove penetrant, emulsifier and developer
