Trace Water Flows:
FT175 Water Additives (Fluorescent)
These concentrated leak tracer dyes are biodegradable, non-toxic
and immediately miscible in water. FT175 tracers come in four
fluorescent colors (FT175Y:yellow, FT175G:green, FT175B:blue &
FT175O:orange, making multiple tests easy. The tracers come in an
easy-to-use dispenser, making smaller system leaks such as toilet
bowl and radiator leaks easy to find. These tracer dyes are
especially suited to detecting leaks in large systems such as
industrial cooling and closed loop systems and are are ideally
suited for water flow studies. They are unaffected by pH, absorption
& photochemical decay. Recommended for water studies or to trace or
monitor or analyze water flows, such as power plant discharges,
industrial effluents, sewer and septic system flows as well as
tracing roof leaks. They can be used in river dredging to check for
possible back-seepage, and in canals and contaminated water for
detecting underground seepage. The dilute solution is
non-irritating, non-toxic and harmless to animal, vegetable and
marine life. It is non-corrosive to metals, rubber or plastic. They
can be used in either the visible or fluorescent mode. FT175 when
diluted in as little as one ounce to 1,000 gallons of water,
produces a colorless solution which will be visible only under UV
(black) light (400nm) using safety glasses.(UV
L105-400 and Safety Glasses AG-EW-100) When FT175 is diluted one
ounce to 100 gallons, it is visible to the naked eye in normal light
as well as fluorescent under UV light. For best results the tracers
should be
diluted two ounces to 100 gallons. They can be used to detect leaks
in any water or water/ glycol, static or circulating system. (ASTM
